There is something intimate, true, and ancient about circling around a fire and sleeping on the earth. I have missed hearing night sounds, feeling the chill of dew, being held by something living. A gracefulness is present in light living where people come together to share who they are as opposed to trading things and services.
The birds are just starting to stir, and today one hundred or so of the 9th graders that I teach will learn to build a fire, paddle a canoe, and orienteer on the Potomac near West Virginia.
Joy is the energy of life. I wish for you such depth of being and seeing. May the crisp air and smell of fresh cut hay permeate the way. I am with you in love, always.
